This exhibit—H+R's third for the Daughters of the American Revolution—explores how design and technology allowed E.F. Caldwell & Company to become one of America’s pre-eminent manufacturers of high-end lighting and interior furnishings in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibit features over 80 ornate light fixtures and objects d’art that once graced public buildings, such as the White House, the Vanderbilt Home, Anderson House, Hillwood and other mansions of the era. At the end, an interactive table serves to inspire visitors to design their own custom fixtures inspired by the glorious artistry of the works in the show.
