Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project

CLIENT

Potomac Crossing Consultants

LOCATION

Maryland, Virginia and DC

The Woodrow Wilson bridge project, which spans three jurisdictions—the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia—took 15 years to complete and involved 60 agencies. Hired under an umbrella organization created to run the project, Howard+Revis was tasked with developing interpretation and selecting spotter scopes and site furnishings for four overlooks on the bridge. These overlooks, with their expansive views of the City of Alexandria and DC, interpret the founding and development of both those cities, the creation of Maryland and DC from Virginia, and the construction and design of the bridge.

Howard+Revis Design went on to design interpretation and signage for substantial parks that were developed at either end of the bridge in Maryland and Virginia.
